Horizen on Fire

Burn, burn in my eyes.
Your blinding brilliance has visited my window once again.

Blaze, blaze in my heart.
As you rise above the obstacles that hide your beauty.

Scorch, scorch the gray clouds.
Reduce them to floating ashes in your ferocious fever.

Warm, warm my body.
For I have missed your violent comforts in my cocoon.

Fade, fade back again.
My obscure Venus goes to illuminate another world.

Gone, gone now to rest.
My eyes will be dull until you come to visit again.

Wolf by Rachael McInnes

Eyes glinting
A flash of razors
Heavy panting
One. Two.
One. Two.

Low, emanating rumbling,
Ripping through the throat.
One. Two.
One. Two.

A cry of excitement
Whipping past the trees
Echoing the wind’s howl
A sound that would stop any heart from beating.
...
...

Lie to me.
Tell me we are safe.
Lie to me.
Tell me the wolves won’t come for us.
Why won’t you lie to me?
